The Destiny of Rome (Le Destin de Rome) debuted on French TV in June, 2011; it’s a 104-minute docudrama about the power struggle between Antony, Cleopatra, and Octavian, with dialogue in Greek and Latin (with French subtitles), expert commentary, and CGI recreations of Alexandria and the Battle of Actium.

This colossal head from grey granite has been identified as Caesarion, son of Cleopatra and Caesar. It must have belonged to a statue as tall as five meters and was discovered on the ancient coastline facing the Antirhodos island.

I love finding new/different pictures from this movie, it’s one of my favourites.

Antony making his way through the streets of Alexandria to the palace. This scene I find really cute actually, particularly how huffy Cleopatra is about him taking so long, and how Antony goes out of his way to be friendly with Caesarion.

Archaeologists have pulled a massive pylon from the bay of Alexandria, Egypt, that was once a part Cleopatra’s royal complex.
The pylon, a pillar of red granite measuring 2.2 meters long and weighing nine tons, formed part of the temple of Isis and stood right next to Cleopatra’s mausoleum in the year 30 BC. These and other building sank into the harbor during a series of earthquakes more than a thousand years ago
